PRIVATE IN-STUDIO APPOINTMENT
To schedule a private appointment, please contact us at 616-949-9781 or book a time online. While our availability changes, we will work with you to schedule a private appointment so it works for both our schedules including weekdays, after work hours and weekends.
Plan on approximately a 30 minute appointment. Impressions take a few seconds but there are many options for personalizing your tile and it can be time consuming. If you know where you plan to display your tile, we recommend that you bring along a swatch of colors in that area to assist you in selecting from over 18 glaze colors.
You will be paying for your tile at time of purchase. Tiles take approximately 4 weeks to create from start to finish and we’ll notify you when they are finished. Most tiles are picked up at the studio but can be mailed if previous arrangements are made (US Postal Service shipping charges will apply).

HOME PARTIES
Note: To host a home party at your location, we need a minimum commitment of 10 tiles (7” x 7” equivalents) within the Greater Grand Rapids area or 15 tiles in surrounding communities to hold the party. If you are unable to secure the minimum, we will need to reschedule the party for another date or we may choose to hold the party at Captured In Clay’s location for the same day and time.
Here’s how it works:
1. Contact us to select a date (day and time) that works for both of us. We are available during the day, evenings and weekends…it just depends upon the date your are considering and our availability. We recommend “Open House” format, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Parents will need to bring their children to this party.
2. Captured In Clay will provide you with a customized invitation (hard copy for mailing and / or an electronic version for email) that contains party info including photos, pricing and sizes – as well as your hostess info. You will receive a hostess packet providing more details about how the process works and preparation. Hostesses having a minimum of 10 tiles receive a $55 hostess credit. Over 20 tiles, hostesses can earn additional credit for use at their show or towards a future purchase.
3. Attendees MUST RSVP prior to the party, indicating the quantity and size of tiles they want to have made. You will be provided with a party count for to assist you in keeping track. This ensures that we are prepared with enough clay for everyone. It is not good to run out of clay before the last guest arrives!
4. Captured In Clay arrives 30 minutes before your party to set up a display and prepare.
5. Attendees bring their kids, complete the order form and have impressions taken – they can expect to be at your place a minimum of 20 minutes to as long as they want to stay. Payment is collected at the party. We accept cash, checks and VISA/MC/Discover credit cards.
Tiles take approx. 4 weeks to complete and return to the hostess for distribution.
SPECIAL EVENTS
On a routine basis, Captured In Clay works with the following retails establishments to bring this unique product to their customers. Similar to a home party, Captured In Clay takes impressions at their location. You can view upcoming events here!
Customers choosing to have impressions made at one of these retail special events are requested to RSVP and sign up for an appointment time. These events usually fill up quickly so we suggest you contact the store of your choice to obtain more information as to the next time Captured In Clay will be on site.
