BEGINNING

CAPTURED IN CLAY FOUNDED

“In 2002, Deana Brownlow started Captured in Clay. After years of working corporately, Deana knew that others would love having their children’s memories preserved in clay as much as she did of her then two young sons. She was the first to offer these unique, personalized impression tiles to the Grand Rapids community. Since then, Captured in Clay has touched the lives of over 10,000 children and families.

After 14 years of owning Captured in Clay, Deanna sold the business to Jen Dyke. Jen, a mom of 5 kids, was a loyal customer for over 12 years. Jen has a passion for the tiles, owning over 30 tiles of her children at all different stages of their lives: from the prints of a precious 3 day old baby to puppy prints to family tiles – capturing these memories in clay. Jen started working for Captured in Clay in 2014 as an apprentice under Deana. She looks forward to helping you create your memories captured in clay.”

OFFERING

“We offer handmade clay tiles that capture your child’s (or pet’s) exact impression. In fact, they’re so precise – you’ll be amazed at the detail. Our designs are original, creative and colorful. We continue to offer and add new dimensions to ensure that you create that one-of-a-kind tile that you will love today and cherish forever. We take impressions of newborns, infants, toddlers, school-age children, parents, grandparents and pets too!”

PARTNERING

Each year, we work with countless local agencies, organizations, schools, groups and individuals to improve our community. By participating in fundraisers, donating free product and providing financial support, Captured In Clay is committed to making a difference in the lives of those we touch. We have had the rewarding pleasure of supporting the following groups (just to name a few): MomsBloom, Kids’ Food Basket, Walk To Remember, Help for Haiti, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital/Childrens Miracle Network, Vicky’s Pet Connection, March Of Dimes and area MOPS groups, preschools and early childhood education programs.

“Touching Lives Since 2002”

We work every day to allow you and your loved ones to capture moments in clay and hold on to them forever. We strive to create memories that last a lifetime.
